But anyway, this one seems relevant at least: TradingView is launching interactive real-time chatting on its site, which lets users talk about stocks in a slightly more private forum than Twitter.

Bono’s Facebook Stake To Make Him Richest Rocker On Earth

Talk about a “Beautiful Day.” Once the smoke clears from Friday’s (May 18) Facebook IPO
, U2 singer Bono could be the richest musician on the planet.

According to England’s NME, the already flush, tech-savvy
 Irish rock icon owns 2.3 percent of the shares of Facebook through his investment group, Elevation Partners. Well before Facebook filed papers to go public, Elevation paid $90 million for the shares in 2009 and after what is expected to be the second-biggest IPO in history, Bono’s share could be worth more than $1.5 billion.

As Rolling Stone pointed out, Bono will split any Facebook riches with his partners at Elevation (whose number is not known), so his total haul is undetermined. Also, the singer has reportedly pledged to use much of the money raised from his investments to aid charity work in Africa.

Though some are reporting that Elevation Partners’ expected windfall would make Bono the richest rocker alive, this is not necessarily true, as the money will be split among various investors and partners associated with the group. It should also be noted that Bono would not be allowed to sell all his shares at once, and the singer has said that money raised from his investments will largely be directed to his philanthropic work in Africa.

With a gang of records
 already in pocket, the one-day take could give the singer bragging rights of a different sort as well. If the calculations are correct (a spokesperson for the band could not be reached by MTV News at press time for confirmation) then Bono would surpass former Beatle Paul McCartney as the world’s richest rock star. McCartney’s vast fortune is estimated to be around $1.05 billion.

NME also reported that U2 are said to be working the songwriters behind British boy band One Direction, including Swedish pop writer Carl Falk, who wrote the group’s breakthrough hit, “What Makes You Beautiful.”

An unnamed source told the magazine, “The band are back in the studio getting a feel for new material after the last album ‘No Line On The Horizon’. Will.i.am had a credit on that and they are looking to explore that direction further. They have been working with Danger Mouse
 and RedOne. They are excited about getting to work with Carl Falk.”

U2 have also logged studio time with EDM star David Guetta
 on songs for one of three new albums
 they’ve been talking about releasing.

Communication is of the utmost importance for people in any situation however; it is even more important for those in love relationships or a family relationship. Millions of people go through school every year without having any idea of how to properly communicate with others. It isn’t taught in schools although proper communication skills are absolutely necessary for everyday life and without them, love and relationships can become strained and jeopardized. You must learn how to communicate properly to be successful in life.

Shut Up and Listen

One of the biggest problems in marriage relationships is that one person just won’t let the other talk. Relationship help experts refer to this type of person as an “isolator”. Isolators have the tendency to talk so much and for so long that their partners become numb to what they are saying. One in five marriage relationships or committed love relationships reportedly has an isolator. Unfortunately, people have become so consumed with themselves and what they are experiencing that they ramble on and on without allowing their partner to get a word in edgewise. For a happy, healthy and successful marriage relationship, you must learn to talk to each other as well as listen to what the other person has to say. This is the art of communication.

Take Off the Gloves

It is natural that disagreements will occur. This happens in all love and relationships as no two people can see eye to eye all of the time. It’s really important that you both know how to settle disagreements before they escalate into something even worse. You need to have guidelines in place for settling disputes. An important love advice to keep in mind is that you should never raise your voices in anger. Yelling at your partner will never solve the problem. Oftentimes, yelling will escalate into name calling, uncalled for accusations and cause someone to bring up past marital problems. A calm discussion will usually be all it takes to settle a dispute. Another important relationship advice is that you both have a cooling off period. When you hit a stalemate and neither of you are willing to budge, call a temporary truce. You should each, take some time to think about the other person’s position as well as reevaluate your own opinion. Once you are able to see where the other person is coming from, you should try to sit down and work through the problem again.

All in the Family

Love relationships aren’t the only ones that need to learn to communicate better. A family relationship can also benefit from learning better communication skills. Families don’t spend enough time talking to each other anymore. This can cause a breakdown in the family dynamic and nullify bonds that were made at birth. Cell phones are often to blame for the lack of communication in families. One would think that a trip to the park to play on the swings would be a great way to communicate with your kids. However, most parents can be seen sitting on a bench texting, talking or updating their status on Facebook rather than spending quality time talking to their kids. A family relationship can become stronger with better communication skills. The whole family should put away the cell phones at dinnertime and simply talk. Cell phones tend to dominate our world and have ruined many love relationships and make our children feel less important. Banning cell phones during dinner and family time will help make your family stronger and happier.

Pentax K-30 leaks out in French catalog, teases us with weather resistance and 1080p video

It’s been more than a year and a half since Pentax first put out the K-r as its entry DSLR, so it’s about time that a sequel roll along to keep the company in the game. If we believe a French catalog, the K-30 should soon one-up its 2010-era brother with a new 16-megapixel sensor and an upgrade to “full HD” (read: likely 1080p) video from the 720p of today. Most of the real change, though, appears to be on the outside: the body would be “tropicalized,” which we’re sure means weather resistance and not a trip to Tahiti. We’ll be a bit disappointed if there aren’t subtler under-the-hood changes, though, as the ISO 25,600 sensitivity wouldn’t be any different than with the K-r, and the four frames per second continuous shooting would be a decided step back from the six of the K-30′s ancestor. The €799 ($1,014) with-tax price for an 18-55mm kit version likewise seems a bit steep for an entry DSLR, although we’ll bite given that this is the “maximum.” Let’s just hope there’s some wild color options in the pipeline whenever the K-30 arrives.

Army launches review of PTSD diagnoses

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Army leaders are launching a sweeping, independent review of how the service evaluates soldiers with possible post-traumatic stress disorder following recent complaints that some PTSD diagnoses were improperly overturned.

The Army said Wednesday it will review the diagnoses at all of its medical facilities going back to October 2001. And top Army leaders said they will develop a plan to correct any decisions or policies necessary to make sure that soldiers are receiving the care and treatment they deserve.

The latest reviews were triggered by revelations that the forensic psychiatry unit at Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state may have reversed diagnoses based on the expense of providing care and benefits to members of the military.

Over the past several years, the U.S. military has seen a dramatic spike in the number of PTSD and traumatic brain injury cases as the long and deadly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan dragged on. The services have struggled to find better ways to monitor their troops, identify the often invisible wounds and beef up treatment both at the battlefront and when they return home.

“We owe it to every soldier to ensure that he or she receives the care they need and deserve,” said Army Secretary John McHugh, adding that the Army “must ensure that our processes and procedures are thorough, fair and conducted in accordance with appropriate, consistent medical standards.”

The Army review will also scrutinize how well soldiers can participate in the system that assesses their ability to receive medical retirements, including whether the appeal process is adequate and whether any nonmedical factors may affect the diagnosis.

There is also a system-wide review being done by the Army inspector general to determine if psychiatrists overturn PTSD diagnoses to save money. The evaluations are the key first step in determining soldiers’ disability benefits.

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who heads the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, said this is the Army’s opportunity to correct the mistakes of the past and ensure that veterans and their families don’t need to “wade through an unending bureaucratic process to get proper access to care.”

“The bottom line is that the Army needs to fix the inconsistencies we have seen in diagnosing the invisible wounds of war,” Murray said. “Out of this review, the Army needs to provide a uniform mental health policy so that service members are given the care they need.”

According to Murray, more than 40 percent of the cases since 2007 that involved candidates for retirement had been overturned. During a recent Senate hearing, she said that of the 1,680 patients screened at Madigan, more than 690 had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. The psychiatric team there reversed more than 290 of those diagnoses.

On Wednesday, she said that so far, based on the review at Madigan, more than 100 service members have had their PTSD diagnosis returned.

The new Army review will be led by Joseph Westphal, undersecretary of the Army, and Army Gen. Lloyd Austin, the vice chief of staff.

Army officials say soldiers sent to war may be checked up to five times, including before being deployed, during combat, once they return home and six months and a year later. Every soldier returning from deployment completes what the Army calls a post-deployment health assessment and a face-to-face interview with a mental health professional. The Army screens soldiers for depression and PTSD, asking questions to find out about any social stressors, sleep disruption and other problems. Those who are detected as having problems go on to a second phase of screening.

Officials say, however, that no test is considered diagnostically definitive for mental illness in general or PTSD in particular.

More than 134,900 Army personnel were diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries between 2000 and 2011. Of those, 75 percent, or more than 100,000, were diagnosed as having a mild or regular concussion. Army policy calls for every service member involved in a blast, vehicle crash or a blow to the head to be medically evaluated.

Apple places massive DRAM order at Elpida plant – report

Apple has taken a punt on bankrupt Japanese DRAM manufacturer Elpida, placing orders for a whopping 50 per cent of the firm?s production of chips at its Hiroshima facility, according to Digitimes.

Industry sources told the Taiwanese tech title that Cupertino is keen to source the DRAM chips from Elpida to power upcoming iPhone and iPad models.

DRAM manufacturers have been forced to endure falling prices for some time now, so Apple?s investment will be a welcome boost to Elpida and the firm most likely to take ownership of it, Micron.

The US memory giant is reportedly bidding $2.5bn for the ailing Japanese firm after rivals SK Hynix and Toshiba both declined to pursue deals. Elpida is said to have debts in excess of $5.5bn.

With Elpida on board and a huge Apple contract in the bag, Micron would happily leapfrog Korean giant Hynix to second place in an industry dominated by Samsung, which has more than half of the market.

In what is set to be another tough year, the growth of mobile computing represents a ray of hope for DRAM manufacturers in the face of increasing price pressures.

Analyst IHS iSuppli predicted in January that tablet computers would need 1 billion gigabits of DRAM in 2012 ? nine times more than the previous year. The figure will rise to 3.5bn by 2014, said iSuppli.

However, as we’ve mentioned previously, things could still go titsup for DRAM suppliers if tablets begin to cannibalise other markets such as netbooks and desktops, leading to a drop in overall demand. ?
